Hi Tim – I’m usually 50/50 on research. I think it’s easy to spend too much time researching and not enough time working. I’ve generally figured it out as I’ve gone along, but I can see the argument for researching upfront. I think if you start with a broad enough niche then you can get away with less research – I’m constantly surprised by what works/what doesn’t work in content marketing… the same goes for niches that people make money in!
Paid Online Surveys and Rewards Sites are the best when you need some quick bucks. There are several best paid survey sites available that you can complete and get paid for. You may complete as many surveys as you can in the same day. The best paid online survey companies and rewards sites that offer opportunities for people without experience are Fusion Cash,  Swagbucks, Ebates, and Ibotta.
Without a doubt, adding the words reviews to your key word can also be a great method of making money. However, me personally I normally avoid targeting keywords which rely solely on the review part. This is because so many other marketers target the ‘product review’ keyword. Competition is something I don’t like when it comes to making my money online. The less people I have to compete with in the search engines the better, so while I might add the word reviews in my content and sometimes in the titles. I generally don’t even go after review type keywords.

Spencer – thanks a million for pulling this all together in one step by step guide and all in one location. Despite all your other great content and posts this IS your best ever blog guide! please don’t’ take it down or move it! My question though is this and I know it depends on time, but please give us some guide as to how long it would take on average for a part time effort – evenings 1 day weekend to get a site to stage where it’s earning $500 per month. I did hear you mention 8 months to a year. Any general indication? Thanks Buddy from the UK!

If you can find and restore items like furniture and appliances, you can make a substantial amount of money. You can acquire the items on Craigslist, or even at garage sales or estate sales, restore them, and then list them for sale on the site. You may also be able to market certain items on eBay, particularly if they are small, unusual, but high in price.
Hehe, believe me or not, I bought many times links on fiverr for 5$ 🙂 And they worked 😀 Google is nothing but a big bunch of shitty programmed algorithms… Google is like financial software trying to find an “ideal” model to beat the market, but market always wins. So please stop speaking about Google as about a goodness… Google “wants” you to build natural links, bla bla..

Thank you for all of this information! I am overflowing with ideas. I pray that this is God led. I am putting it in His hands. I do have one question. Will I be able to start blogging quickly after purchasing the plan of choice with the service provider you suggested. I think the plan I’m choosing runs around $6 a month. Will there be more necessary things to add (plug ins?? Idk what that is?!?) which will be costly or can I just begin getting creative? I hope I’m not bothering you. You have a wealth of knowledge! Maybe one of your books would help? Recommendations?? Otherwise, I will sift through all the wonderful information you have provided right here! Thank you, Sarah! This could be life changing for me and my family. You are awesome!

I’m very interested in copywriting, editing, and proofreading and have checked out sites like Upwork in the past and noticed that competition is very stiff. There are so many seasoned freelancers (from other countries) who are willing to work at such low wages that it is very discouraging for someone like myself who has no real experience to compete and much less earn a viable living. What’s the secret? Do I jump in by underbidding everyone else just for the sake of getting feedback?

When was the last time you went to a new restaurant without looking it up online beforehand? Or bought a product that didn’t have at least a few 5-star reviews? It seems like more and more our world is run on reviews. And you can make money online by writing them. Get started by creating accounts on sites like Vindale research, Software Judge, FameBit, CrowdTap, Influence Central, and Modern Mom. However, before you run off and start writing, be sure to check the small print on each of these sites. Writing reviews isn’t a huge source of guaranteed income and you want to make sure that it’s worth your time before you get going.

If you're looking for a quick fix, sell gigs on Fiverr. Everyone knows about the gig economy. It's evolved over the years. And today, they're not just five-dollar gigs that you're selling. But, you need to build credibility first. Deliver real value. Go out of your way. Get stellar reviews. Then. And only then. Can you really kick things into high gear.

Many big businesses are looking for social media influencers to become long-term ambassadors for their brand. This would involve you working closely with one particular band, and promoting their clothes, products, and services. You may also be restricted from promoting other brands, so check out the small print before agreeing to any long-term agreements.
The online application process for these jobs—or perhaps “gigs” is the better word, since they're all for independent contractors—is pretty simple and straightforward with very little required of candidates. Some of these opportunities—like the micro-jobs—you could very well apply and start the same day. And these jobs require very little commitment and can typically be done on your own schedule.

If you have experience with marketing, SEO, or a knack for getting people excited about the products and services you use on a regular basis, think about refining your skills and putting them to work making money online as a small business marketing consultant in your region—especially if you can become a local SEO expert and can help local clients rank higher in their search results.
Most of the writing sites listed above are content sites that will always pay a set rate per word. If you're interested in going into business for yourself as a freelance writer, finding your own clients, and setting your own rates, I recommend reading this information I've posted on starting a freelance writing business (an interview with someone who has successfully done this).
Keywords are vital to being successful online. They are how your visitors find you! But not all keywords are the same. Some get searched more, some less. I’m going to show you how to find profitable keywords (with low competition) using 4 different kinds of methods, and they are all completely free. I have used these exact same methods (And still do) to have websites get 100’s and even 1,000’s of visitors monthly and even weekly.

You see, I built my very first website back in 2005 (over a decade ago) and I've been building these types of sites ever since as well as maintaining my own blog here at Niche Pursuits. You can read more about my qualifications to talk about this subject; however, I feel very confident that this truly is the only resource you will need to get your very first niche website up and earning.
One thing I really love about the whole niche site thing is there’s really no limitations. I mean sure there’s some competitive niches out there, but there’s always money to be made. Everybody in the world could have this information, but there’s only a handful of us that will really do something with it, and even less that will stay the course no matter what!

Shopify is another great option if you are wanting to create your own eCommerce store. Shopify is arguably easier to set up than WooCommerce but will give you less control over your storefront and cost you more long term. However, if you have little to no experience of creating websites or using WordPress, or you are working to a very tight time schedule, then Shopify may be the perfect eCommerce platform for you.

As an internet entrepreneur, you'll need your own web presence:website, blog, social media platforms, landing pages, sales pages, banner ads, or e-commerce site. But instead of selling your own products, you sell the products of other companies. You can use several of these combinations, if you like, as long as you get your marketing message to the public.

Again, if your blog has a large reader base, then businesses may be interested in paying you to review their services or products. Not only will you get a free trial using whatever these businesses are selling, you will also get a fee for writing them a review and posting it to your site. Paid reviews (and other paid and sponsored content) can be big money, so advertise this service on your contact page to generate business.
19. eBay – Of course you can’t read an article about making money online that doesn’t mention eBay. You can start an eBay store and get serious about it or you can just sell some stuff to declutter your home. Either way, I’ve made my fair share from selling on eBay and it’s still a popular way to earn money. If you decide to start an actual eBay store, you’ll want to find a drop-ship business like Doba that will store and ship items straight to your customers so you don’t have to deal with an inventory.
But do websites and blogs really make money? Yes. As businesses big and small are shifting their advertising budgets from the yellow pages, radio, and TV to the Internet, this creates opportunities big and small for websites to help companies get in front of their target audience. According to MarketWatch, the website WebMD made over $500 million in advertising in 2012. I have a feeling just a very small percentage of that would positively impact your life!

My 10-year-old son brought home a book from our park’s free library box. It was a biology textbook – teachers edition. He said it looked interesting and hey, it was free (having no idea you could sell it). I scanned it in my Amazon seller app and realized it was worth around $150. He was so excited. We listed it for sale for $130 and it sold! Going to tell him, he just made $130!

Here’s a good example of how lead sales can work in real life: My second website, Life Insurance by Jeff, brings in a ton of traffic from people who are searching the web to find answers to life insurance questions. While I used to have the website set up so I could sell these people life insurance myself, it was a lot of work to process all the different requests and clients. As a result, I started selling the leads I gathered instead.
That said, if you deliver A+ content to your audience for 20-25 minutes, it’s perfectly acceptable to spend the last few minutes sharing opportunities for your audience to learn more, buy your product, or sign up for coaching or your email list (if they haven’t already). Not sure where to start or how to execute? Here is a great guide that Lewis Howes shares with Pat Flynn on how to run and successfully market a profitable webinar.
If you want to find some contract work, I recommend you check out some of the popular freelance portals. The most popular one tends to be Upwork. You can easily find design, writing, and coding contracts on there. At first, you will have to work for less to prove your reputation and skill set, but as you improve, you’ll land better, higher paying contracts.
If you're serious about making money online, start a blog. Blogging is one of the easiest and most sustainable income sources. As long as the blog is setup the right way, in the right niche, with the right content targeted at the right audience, and the offer is complementary to the content, you could make a tremendous amount of passive income from a blog.

Display. Just as in any retail operation, the way you display your wares will greatly impact your sales. Produce should be placed underneath a cover to protect it from the sun, but be sure to allow at least seven feet of head room. Display your prices prominently, and clearly identify the things that make your product special. Personalize your stand with signs to inform your customers.

Thank you for the clear, concise road-map for building a successful monetized site without relying on spam. Since my retirement from teaching in 2012, I have been freelancing as a writer/photographer and have had some success, but my ambition is to have my own website up and running so that I can write for myself and still earn money. I have not dedicated enough time to writing quality content or marketing my website, but this article has inspired me to dig in and get it moving in the right direction. Again, thanks for an article that was worth reading and may you continue to have great success with your endeavors.
